Opelousas Police Make Drug Arrest Following Traffic Stop

OPELOUSAS, La. -- Opelousas police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with an expired license plate on Heather Drive May 4. Police said they came in contact with a strong odor of what appeared to be marijuana. After consent to search, additional drugs were located along two weapons.

Benjimin Phillips, 28-years-old was arrested and charged with the following:

ossession with intent to distribute scheduled one, illegal possession of a firearm in the presence of CDS, possession with intent to distribute schedule four drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
