SCOTT, LA - Even though Hurricane Ida did not have a major impact to our area, Scott firefighters have been extremely busy as a result of it's effects.

Twelve members of SFD were deployed to Houma, to assist local fire department. After nearly two weeks, all SFD members, returned home on Friday night.

The personnel which remained home, here in Scott, were forced to work and volunteer double time to keep you safe. Even with exhausted firefighters, station duties and normal daily operations continued.

I would like to thank ULL Head Baseball Coach Matt Deggs and his players for bettering the community by performing Station duties and other needed task on Saturday, permitting firefighters to take a much-needed break.
