Two Arrested in Vermilion Parish In Connection to March 7, 2021 Shooting Death

The Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office’s Criminal Investigation Division developed information for felony warrants for Kinnie Leshon Henderson, Jr. and Lashylaja Marie Turner.

After a three week long investigation into a shooting which occurred on March 7, 2021 just outside the city limits of Abbeville, which resulted in one victim dead and another victim injured, the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office’s Criminal Investigation Division developed information for felony warrants for Kinnie Leshon Henderson, Jr. and Lashylaja Marie Turner.

On Monday, March 29, 2021, members of the Violent Crimes Task Force found Henderson within the city limits of Abbeville. After a foot chase, Henderson was arrested. Turner was also arrested nearby. Each have been charged with 1 count of First Degree Murder and 1 count of Attempted First Degree Murder.

Upon arrest, Henderson was in possession of a large amount of suspected illegal narcotics and a weapon. Henderson has also been charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Synthetic Marijuana, Possession with Intent to Distribute Ecstasy, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of CDS, and Possession of a Firearm within 1,000 Feet of a Daycare.

Both have been booked into the Vermilion Parish Correctional Center without bond.
