Two Arrested in Connection to Shooting in Abbeville; No Injuries Reported

ABBEVILLE, La. - The Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office received a call about someone being shot at on US Hwy 167 just north of Abbeville on August 24, 2021.

The Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office’s Patrol Division along with Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division responded and located a victim that was shot at but not struck.

Through further investigation, Detectives were able to establish two suspects which lead them to obtain Arrests Warrants on Wesley Lee Williams, for one count of Attempted Second Degree Murder, and his nephew Randy Rayshun Heathmon , for one count of Principle to Attempted Second Degree Murder.

Both suspects from Abbeville were arrested without incident and booked into the Vermilion Parish Correctional Center.
