Two Arrested and One Wanted in Connection with Two Separate Shooting Incidents in Opelousas

Suspects warrants include attempted murder and several other crimes.

On Monday, March, 1, 2021, investigators with the Opelousas Police Department booked Allie Zoe Roy, age 21, 506 Fontenot Road, Opelousas, LA 70570, for attempted first degree murder (8 counts), assault by drive by shooting (7 counts) and armed robbery. The charges stem from 2 separate shooting investigations.

The first shooting happened on February 9, 2021 in the 600 block of Pulford Street. Officers responded to a call for shots fired just before midnight, and upon arrival determined that several rounds were fired at a residence in the 600 blk. of Pulford St. the home was occupied by seven people at the time including men, women and children. Officers collected evidence at the time but did not immediately have suspect information.

The second shooting occurred in the early morning of February 23, 202.1 The Opelousas Police Department investigated a shooting in the 800 block of Patsy St. where one male victim was struck in the back. The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. Investigators were able to obtain information that identified Deandra Weston and Markentae Williams both from Mamou, La. as being responsible for the shooting. The shooting was a result of a robbery of a firearm and an undetermined amount of cash. Warrants were obtained for the arrest of both suspects for attempted first degree murder and armed robbery.

This morning, just after midnight, investigators with the assistance of the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s office and their S.W.A.T. Team were able to take Deandra Weston into custody in the 500 blk. of Fontenot Rd. Mr. Weston was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail for one count of first degree murder and armed robbery. Investigators are still looking for Markentae Williams for his involvement in the crime.

During the investigation of these shootings investigators developed information that Allie Zoe Roy was principally involved in both of these incidents. Additional charges have been added to Mr. Deandra Weston for his involvement in the Pulford St. shooting.
