Tracking Tropical Storm Laura

Posted: Aug 24, 2020 7:48 AM

August 24, 2020 - As of 7am, Tropical Storm Laura has winds of 60 mph and is located just south of Cuba.

Laura is expected to move into the Gulf tomorrow and begin strengthening into a hurricane.

By Wednesday afternoon, the outer bands of Laura look to begin affecting Acadiana as the storm continues to strengthen.

We expect Laura to strengthen into a Category 2 hurricane prior to landfall early Thursday morning.

There is still a lot of uncertainty with where Laura will go and how strong it will be, so stay tuned to News15 for the latest.
