Third family of SEACOR Power crew member files lawsuit

The family of Ernest J. Williams of Arnaudville has sued two SEACOR entities; Talos Energy, the company which hired the lift boat; and SEMCO LLC, the company which built the lift boat.

ST. MARY PARISH, La. (KADN) - A third family of a crew member killed when the SEACOR Power capsized has filed a lawsuit against the company.

According to NBC affiliate WDSU, the family of Ernest J. Williams of Arnaudville has sued two SEACOR entities; Talos Energy, the company which hired the lift boat; and SEMCO LLC, the company which built the lift boat.

According to the WDSU article, the family claims the companies had "complete disregard for crew safety when the liftboat sailed into severe weather."

The lift boat capsized on April 13 south of Port Fourchon in the Gulf of Mexico. 

19 crew members were on board.
