IBERIA PARISH, La. (KADN) - Iberia Parish deputies have arrested the man they say is responsible for a shooting in Loreauville Tuesday morning (November 9).
According to a release, deputies were called about 8 a.,m. to Boutte Road for a reported shooting.
There, they found two victims. One was seriously injured. The other had no injuries.
During the investigation, Anthony Terrell Mallery was identified as the suspected shooter. Mallery was found driving one of the victim's vehicles. He was arrested in a can field near the 1400 block of Adrian Street.
Mallery is being held in the Iberia Parish Jail, charged with:
- attempted first-degree murder (2 counts)
- unauthorized use of a motor vehicle
- flight from an officer
- aggravated criminal damage to property
- driving without a license
- possession of firearm by convicted felon
- theft of a firearm
- resisting an officer
- parole violation
The victim who was shot was taken to Lafayette General for treatment but had to be airlifted to Our Lady fo the Lake Hopsital in Baton Rouge.
Deputies say the victim is in serious but stable condition.
