Summer Treble Cajun and Creole Music and Cultural Arts Camp led by TCA Board of Trustees Member and renowned musician Brazos Huval happens on June 28-30, 2021, from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Talented regional musicians and craftspeople of Cajun and Creole Heritage will instruct campers on activities meant to carry forth traditions of the Cajun and Creole people of Saint Martin Parish. Fun creative activities and musical education are the focus for this special edition of the annual Treble on the Teche camp that is customarily offered in November during Thanksgiving week. In 2021, Treble on the Teche will have been presented by TCA for 7 consecutive years.

Summer Treble is open to students in 2nd through 8th grade. Some instruments are available for students who do not have their own. Fee is $165 per child and $150 for students with siblings attending. Lunch included. Please provide your child with a water bottle. Camp will happen at the newly-renovated Teche Center for the Arts, 210 E. Bridge Street, Breaux Bridge, LA.

Teche Center for the Arts is a recipient of the Jean Breaux Award 2021-2022 from the Acadiana Center for the Arts, to fund scholarships for ten deserving but underserved students to attend Summer Treble, June 28-30, 2021 at TCA. Outreach efforts are underway to offer these scholarships. TCA would like to thank the Acadiana Center for the Arts for this generous recognition of our contribution to building an inclusive, diverse, and healthy community created with families and individuals we serve, especially the deserving children of St. Martin Parish.

Jean Breaux Award 2021-2022

The Jean Breaux Award 2021-2022 is a grant program of the AcA for high school and college students as well as non-profit organizations in Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary, and Vermilion Parishes. This program provides financial support to practicing young artists, who are interested in enhancing their skills through participation in advanced study beyond what is available in their present school curriculum. Recognized arts disciplines for this program are performing arts, visual arts, dance, folklife, literary arts, media arts, music, theater, and arts administration.
