New Iberia - Suddenlink donated $5,000 worth of iPads to the Boys and Girls Club of Acadiana’s New Iberia Club to increase access to virtual classroom opportunities, connectivity, and online curriculum for students.
This donation is part of Altice USA’s, parent company of Suddenlink, $1 Million giving to 30+ school districts as part of its COVID-19 response initiatives to support local communities as they recover from the impact of the pandemic.
Michael Shaffer, regional vice president at Suddenlink, noted, “At Suddenlink, we are proud to support the communities we serve and the Boys and Girls Club of Acadiana, who play a critical role in helping to develop the innovators and technologists of tomorrow.”
BGCA President and CEO Missy Andrade said “At Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana, we strive to create a safe, fun, and well-rounded experience for our Club Members. Many of our Club families lack internet access or adequate devices at home which can negatively impact student success and social connectivity. The donation of iPads at our Iberia Club from Suddenlink will directly impact our kids by removing barriers to access technology and programs that enhance our commitment to bridging the digital divide.”
