On Tuesday, August 18, 2020, Scott Fire Department was dispatched to an unconscious person in the 800 Block of Rue Bon Secours. Upon arrival, Firefighters located an unconscious patient in the front yard who was cutting grass, possibly the result of a heat related emergency. SFD began assessing the patient and administering basic life support interventions. Acadian Ambulance medics arrived, and
the patient was transported to a local hospital. Scott Firefighters remained on scene to make sure that notification of a relative was
made and someone was responding to care for the children inside the residence. While waiting for someone to arrive, Firefighters finished mowing the rest of the yard for the victim. This is just another example of how firefighters go above and beyond on a daily
basis for our citizens.
