Lafayette, LA (KADN) -- Both Teurlings Catholic and St. Thomas More are thankful to be playing the Holy War in 2020 after multiple hurricanes and a global pandemic. The Tuerlings catholic seniors are trying to beat STM for the first time in their careers, but STM's undefeated team has no intention to let that happen easily.
"We are really excited about their defense and how we matchup on offense," Tuerlings Catholic quarterback Kaden Boulet said. "They have a spread out defense that we feel like we can attack in many different ways."
"It is a huge challenge," Teurlings Catholic football coach Dane Charpentier said. "They have a very good offense. Their scheme isn't very complicated, but the level that the execute it at is very impressive."
STM has to be road warriors to win this matchup for the first time in the last four years.
"As much as it makes us hungry, they want to beat us just as much," STM middle linebacker Andre LeBlanc said.
"We just have to keep making first downs when we have the ball," STM football coach Jim Hightower said. "We just have to be patient about what we attack."
