Lafayette,LA- A fall family fun day is what the Rotary Club of Youngsville planned for their community. A day where families were able to come out and enjoy a day of relaxation with their family.

"It's a beautiful day to come to the pumpkin patch."

Youngsville Rotary Club has been working the patch at the pond event for about six months. The club president Michele Nakuin says they had no idea the turnout would be this tremendous but wants to do events that can bring the community out. "We're really pleased to be able to give back to the community and we have a place where people can enjoy themselves and get out."

The Rotary Club says that every donation that's given will go to helping with future projects that happen in the youngsville community.

Patricia Lanier says "We have several ongoing projects we've kind of adopted Foster Park as a rotary project, and so we've kind of maintained that park for some ideas for adding some particular fun activities to the park."

When she moved to youngsville, Jessica Prosperie said she joined the rotary club to help put together family-friendly events, "We don't have family around us, and so whatever we do, we have to bring our kids, so this is perfect. being with rotary, it's amazing. it's just going to grow and give this community love back."

one resident told NEWS15 that these events bring the community out as one and give the kids something to enjoy. “So many kids activities that for ten dollars all day, you couldn't anywhere else, and I think with everyone being couped up. everyone wants something to do.”

The Rotary Club says that the rotary club was happy about the turnout, and they thank everyone who came out and donated. The club says that the Youngsville community can expect future events to happen. This will give the club the chance to work on other projects around the neighborhood.
