The Opelousas Police Department has made several arrests in reference to two shootings that occurred on the morning of July 18, 2020.
In regards to the shooting in the 800 blk. of S. Oak St. that left a 10-year-old hospitalized and the related shooting in the 100 blk. of W Lincoln St. that injured one female victim the following persons have been charged:
Leon Raymond Senegal, age 23, 828 S. Bullard Street, Opelousas, LA., 70570, Assault by drive-by shooting, attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder (2 counts).
Deondrea Arthurlee, age 20, 105 E. Lincoln Street, Opelousas, LA., 70570, Attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder (2 counts), assault by drive-by shooting, illegal carrying of weapons.
A 15 year old male, Assault by Drive-by shooting and Attempted first-degree murder.
The investigations into these shootings and others are active and ongoing. Additional arrests are expected in the aforementioned investigations as well as other open shooting investigations.
