Opelousas Mayor Alsandor provides an update on mosquito abatement:

"The City of Opelousas is committed to improving conditions caused by the two hurricanes that have impacted our city and community. We have entered a contract with a mosquito abatement company to begin spraying city-wide. For the next two weeks (twice a week), we will spray throughout the city to battle the influx of mosquitoes brought on by the hurricanes. The process will take place between the hours of 6:00 - 11:00 p.m. Please follow us on the City of Opelousas web page and Historic Opelousas Facebook Page for events and updates about our city."
