District Attorney Don Landry releasing more information on the case in a press conference this evening...even showing body cam footage of that night's events. We were able to see video footage from inside the convenience store 31-year-old Trayford Pellerin was inside prior to him being shot and killed in front another store just minutes later by police.

"they showed one video that had nothing to do with what they showed today"

31-year-old trayford pellerin was shot and killed by lafayette police officers nearly nine months ago. Video footage and body cam video released tuesday by district attorney don landry shows the moments leading up to trayford's death.

"and saw that pellerin was armed with a knife and told him do not go in the store do not go in the store seconds later pellerin attempted to open the door to the convenience store and officers fired 11 rounds in 2.4 seconds to prevent him from doing so."

Landry says evidence shown...is what led to a jury not handing up indictments against the officers.
Prior to Trayford being shot--he is seen inside of another convenience store just walking around and barely speaking even as the store clerk tries to make conversation. you can later hear him shouting a name.

"The one name that he yelled was his sister she worked at that store he yelled trenika pellerin trenika"

In that same video is where D.A. Landry points out that you can see a knife in trayford's hand.
By the time Trayford is leaving the store....you see police on the scene with body camera footage showing officers following and attempting to tase trayford as he walks across the evangeline throughway to another store.

Just moments later is when you see officers shoot and kill trayford. his family's attorney ron haley says non-compliance is not a death penatly.

"all they saw was a man retreating and not complying and non-compliance is not a death penalty"

So what's next there's the pending federal lawsuit that was filed and they also asked for a civil rights investigation. The District Attorney also released pellerin's toxicology report - which found methamphetamines, t-h-c and nicotine in his system.
