Lafayette, LA - That same community that helped you grow, only to return and start something that will be here for years to come. That's what one business owner plans to do and hopes to cultivate the community that raised her.

"Don't be afraid to pour back into spaces that we want that we were once inspired and motivated by,"says new owner of PARC Vllage Leigha Porter.

The co-creator of Creole Nutcracker,is opening an arts community center in north Lafayette. Porter says PARC Village will be a space for artists and creatives. The term village, a place that everyone could come together and enjoy. "A village within itself that really cultivates and really pushes motivates, and inspires artists and creatives but also a village for the northside community as well."

Her only hopes are that artists and creative across Louisiana come and create where they will have the resources to continue working and express it to the community, "For artist and creatives to have that dialogue with the community, open dialogue about art, about visual arts, music to expose our kids in the community. to expose people in the community to art."

Porter visualizes moss street as a cultural arts district in the future, where artists can thrive, and art galleries can take place. "All these great and amazing things that we normally see in bigger cities. in D.C, Los Angelos, New York. that could be right here on Moss Street in Lafayette on the northside."

When brainstorming, Porter wanted to ensure there was a room where the different artists could create, "We have a podcast studio that can accommodate up to five individuals. We have a music lab where if you want to host lessons, piano, violin lessons. We have two movement studios for dance and fitness. I really just hope people are realy inspired by PARC Village."

The new center will also be a place where organizations can host meetings. PARC Village on the northside will have so much to offer to artists and creatives, and she says that's been the plan along.

The grand opening for parc village is october 16 at the address is 2323 Moss Street Lafayette, LA.
