LAFAYETTE, LA – A new educational resource group called Bayou Lotus is starting in Acadiana. After training with the children trust fund alliance, the founder and president of the organization, Pasqueal Nguyen decided to help other families in south louisiana  through the same training.

Nguyen wants to focus on five protective factors within Bayou Lotus which are parent resilience, social connection, concrete support in times and needs, knowledge of child development and social and emotional competence in children.

“There are alot of places where you can go on websites and get numbers and stuff like that but when you call there was no one on the other line. It’s no longer a service that is provided and so what I want to do is keep an updated resources document for the organization and make sure that people have the right information. There is a lack of the right information going around and it is causing a lot of stress on families that could be getting the support that they need.” Pasqueal Nguyen Said.

There are plans on offering free training to the general public once the organization is established. Bayou Lotus is asking those that want to get a head start in the conversation to email them at bayou lotuscorp @ gmail.com
