MORGAN CITY, La. (July 8, 2021) — NephCure Kidney International, a nonprofit dedicated to finding better treatments for patients suffering from Nephrotic Syndrome and other rare, chronic kidney diseases, will be hosting its second annual Boogie on the Bayou event on Saturday, July 17 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m at Gros’ Marina in Morgan City, Louisiana. This outdoor day of fun will feature delicious Louisiana seafood, a bake sale, a silent auction, games, and a performance by local music stars Ryan Foret & Foret Tradition.

Nephrotic Syndrome is an umbrella term for a range of rare, protein-spilling kidney diseases that currently have no cure or even targeted treatments. With the help of NephCure-funded research, there are now more than 25 new potential treatment options being tested in clinical trials. All proceeds from Boogie on the Bayou will go toward NephCure’s mission of further advancing this research — research that will help local Nephrotic Syndrome patients like Zachary Thibodaux, who was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome at 11 years old.

“Boogie on the Bayou means a lot to me and my family because the more money we raise at each event, the more funds researchers have to use to find a cure,” Thibodaux said. “Boogie on the Bayou is a fun event where people can relax and enjoy their time, and at the same time, raise money.”

The event will have a $5 cover to be paid upon arrival. For more information, visit NephCure.org/Boogie.
