With the threat of two tropical systems effecting Acadiana this week communities across Acadiana are preparing for adverse weather. Lafayette decleared a state of Emergency effective on Sunday. Abbeville was another city delcaring a state of emergency for both storms. In the Emergency City Council meeting in Abbeville, discussions were made involing the preparedness of first responders as well as water and electric services for the city. There was talks of possibly putting a curfew in effect Wednesday.
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic, as of right now, no evacuation centers will be opened. For those that need to evacuate there will be a staging center set up at North Vermillion high school.
