UPDATE: Man Arrested on Second Degree Murder Charge in Connection to Rayne Shooting

UPDATE (September 23,2020) : The Acadiana Parish Sheriff's have arrested 27 year old Trey Prejean in connection to the September 21, 2020 shooting of 38 year old Dalvin Washington of Rayne. we will provide futher information once it becomes available.

Rayne Chief of Police Carroll J. Stelly released more details about the shooting that occurred in the early afternoon hours on September 21, 2020 on The Boulevard and its intersection with Arceneaux Drive.

The victim has been identified as Dalvin Washington, 38 year old male from Rayne. The suspect has been identified as Trey J. Prejean, 27 years of age.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Prejean for second degree murder and no bond has been set.

Prejean, they are asked to contact the Rayne Police Department at 337-334-4215 or call an anonymous tip into Crimestoppers of Acadia Parish, 789-TIPS (789- 8477) or use the convenient P3 app. Callers could receive up to a $1,000 cash award leading to the arrest of the Prejean.
