Deputies were dispatched to the 16000 block of Highway 190 in the Port Barre area in reference to a burglary of a business on September 7, 2020. The day before, video footage captured a black car as it drove up to the rear of the business. A male subject, wearing a Waitr shirt and khaki pants, was observed entering the storage building located at the rear of the business and exiting with a red Craftsman air compressor and an orange and black Husqvarna leaf blower. Both items are valued at $280.00.
Earlier that day, the same black male entered the business and attempted to steal two cases of beer. When confronted by an employee, the male subject returned the beer and no contact with law enforcement was made.
