According to Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz, “On September 22, 2020, the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the 200 block of Pavy Road in the Opelousas area in regards to a drive-by shooting.”

Upon further investigation by detectives, it was determined that Terry Johnson had been in contact with the victim and sending her text messages threatening serious bodily harm, and, at times, the texts stated that he would kill her. The victim also received a text message from him stating that he hoped she enjoyed her last night breathing.

Soon after this incident, the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office received a call stating that there was a drive-by shooting where the victim was currently residing. Two adults and three juveniles were inside the residence at the time of the shooting.

An arrest warrant was issued for Terry Wayne Johnson and, on November 17, 2020, he was booked at the St. Landry Parish Jail for 5 counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder and Cyberstalking.

On behalf of Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz, this is Deputy Chief Eddie Thibodeaux. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
