Today, there is a large increase of COVID-19 cases due to the on-boarding of a large commercial lab, that's according to Dr.Tina Stefanski with the Louisiana Department of Health. Dr. Stefanski reports of the 1,741 backlog from the lab included in today’s increase statewide, 1,262 cases are from Region 4.
Of these 1,262 backlog cases reported for our region, the date of collection range is May 28, 2020 through August 3, 2020, with the majority of these cases, 78%, date of collected since July 1, 2020.
