Hurricane Delta caused a significant amount of wind damage throughout Lafayette Parish, leaving many residents with yard debris. It is essential that residents separate items by category before placing them curbside.
Because area landfills are only permitted to accept certain materials, not all debris is taken to the same location. Properly separating items allows crews to determine where debris will be taken, and it helps pickup happen in a more timely manner. Crews are only removing yard debris at this time. After clearing all yard debris, contract crews will begin pick-up of other types of storm debris.
