Lafayette Utilities System Offers Restoration Progress

Lafayette, LA – Lafayette Utilities System along with mutual aid crews from Florida have been restoring power throughout the day to those affected by Hurricane Laura.

At 5:30 p.m. this evening, approximately 8,000 LUS customers are without power. At our peak, power outages totaled approximately 15,000 customers.

Crews will continue working into the night until is no longer safe and will resume work early in the morning.

To report an outage, call LUS at (337) 291-9200 or for downed power lines or power poles, call LUS at (337) 291-5700. Remember do not touch or drive over any fallen power lines.
