Lafayette Police Respond to Shooting Incident in the 500 Blk of S. Pierce St

Officers with the Lafayette Police Department responded to an address in the 500 Blk of S. Pierce St. at approximately 1:30 am on July 5.

Lafayette, LA- Officers with the Lafayette Police Department responded to an address in the 500 Blk of S. Pierce St. at approximately 1:30 am on July 5. Once on scene, officers determined that there were approximately three persons that were struck by gunfire. One victim, Mr. Jimmy Fuselier of Carencro, 35, was transported to a local hospital but was unable to recover from the injury.
One of the other victims was struck in the back, and attempted to drive himself to a local hospital. On the way to the hospital, the victim was involved in a major vehicle crash at the intersection of Evangeline Thruway and Jefferson St. He is listed in stable condition.
The third victim suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his foot, and refused medical attention on scene.
This is an ongoing investigation.
