On Nov. 27 at approximately 8 a.m., officers with the Lafayette Police Department responded to a shooting incident in the 800 Blk of St. Charles Street.
Once on scene, both the victim and suspect left the scene prior to officers’ arrival.
Officers were able to make contact with the victim a short time later at a local hospital. He suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his lower torso.
The investigation revealed that the victim arrived at the residence of the suspect. A verbal altercation took place, and turned violent when the suspect retrieved a handgun from inside of the residence as the victim was attempting to leave. The suspect shot at the victim multiple times. The victim was able to drive away.
This investigation is ongoing.
