Lafayette Parish's COVID-19 vaccination rate now slightly higher than state's rate

In Lafayette, 44.76% of those eligible are fully vaccinated.

LAFAYETTE, La. (KADN) - Data from the Louisiana Department of Health shows that the COVID-19 vaccination rate in Lafayette Parish is now slightly higher than the state's rate.

About 44.6% of residents in the state are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. In Lafayette, 44.76% is fully vaccinated. That translates to 107,464 people, according to data released by LDH on September 23.

Across the nine Acadiana parishes, 277,888 people have received either both doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
