Lafayette Man Arrested On Multiple Drug Charges

Upon initial contact with the driver, Kenneth L. Rauch, Jr., 54, Lafayette, the Deputy observed an unmarked prescription bottle in the vehicle, and a probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted.

St. Martinville, LA-Sheriff Becket Breaux announces that on Friday, September 11, 2020 at approximately 11:30 p.m., a Deputy with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s was conducting proactive narcotics enforcement on Grand Point Road in Cecilia, LA.; when a pick-up truck swerved into his lane of travel, almost striking his vehicle. A subsequent traffic stop was conducted on the suspect vehicle in the 2900 block of Grand Point Road, in Henderson, LA. Upon initial contact with the driver, Kenneth L. Rauch, Jr., 54, Lafayette, the Deputy observed an unmarked prescription bottle in the vehicle, and a probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted.

Following the search of the vehicle, the Deputy located suspected Methamphetamine, suspected Grey Death (A mixture of Heroin/Fentanyl/Carfentanil/possibly other opioids); suspected Heroin, suspected Marijuana, a digital scale, new plastic baggies, and a grinder. The weights and packaging of the Methamphetamine, Grey Death and Heroin; along with the new plastic baggies and digital scale, are indicative of the suspect’s intent to distribute these illegal narcotics.

Upon culmination of the investigation, Kenneth L. Rauch, Jr., was charged as follows:

LA. R.S. 40:967A1 Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II (Methamphetamine)
LA. R.S. 40:966A1 Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I (Heroin)
LA. R.S. 40:966A1 Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I (Grey Death)
LA. R.S. 40:966C Possession of Schedule I (Marijuana)
LA. R.S. 40:1023C Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Following his arrest, he was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the above charges. At the time of this release, no bond had been set.
