On Nov. 27 at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers with the Lafayette Police Department responded to a call where multiple victims were stabbed in the 100 Blk of Alcide Domingue Drive at a local motel.

Once on scene, officers found the suspect being subdued by a one of the victims. Officers quickly took control of the scene, and detained the suspect.

One victim suffered significant defensive wounds from the knife attack, and had to be transported to a local hospital.

The second victim suffered minor lacerations, and stated that he would seek medical attention on his own.

The investigation revealed that the suspect attempted to purchase a hotel room for the evening. Because of his behavior, the front desk clerk did not allow him to purchase a room. The suspect became upset, jumped over the counter and stabbed the front desk clerk several times. A second employee intervened, but he also was struck with the knife. After a brief struggle, the second victim was able to hold the suspect down until officers arrived.

The suspect, Mr. Troy Ledeux, was transported to a local hospital for injuries he sustained in the knife attack. Once he was released, he was booked into the Lafayette parish Correctional Center.

The victim’s age and place of residence could not be confirmed at the time of this release.
