LDH: 681 new COVID-19 cases, 16 new deaths reported Friday

Most of Acadiana's parishes remain in the "high" level of community risk.

(KADN) - The Louisiana Department of Health reported 681 new cases of COVID-19 and 16 new COVID-related deaths on October 22.

The number of hospitalizations due to COVID-19 continue to drop statewide as well. Friday's report said 342 are seeking treatment in hospitals. 48 patients are on ventilators.

Most of Acadiana's parishes remain in the "high" level of community risk. However, Evangeline and St. Martin Parishes continue to fall in the highest risk category. Iberia Parish has dropped to the moderate risk category.
