Lafayette, LA – UPDATE: Lafayette Utilities System (LUS) is reporting, as of 1 p.m. CST, 12,458 LUS customers are without power.

Lafayette Utilities System (LUS) is reporting, as of 7 a.m. CST, 17,000 LUS customers are without power.

LUS appreciates their customer’s patience in the restoration efforts after the extensive damage of Hurricane Delta.

We would like to remind customers to please keep a safe distance from lines crews and tree trimming crews as they work in your area and in roadways.

To report an outage, call (337) 291-9200 or if you see a downed power line or equipment, call (337) 291-5700.

Approximately 50,000 customers are currently without power due to high winds and extensive damage from Hurricane Delta. Lafayette Utilities System (LUS) will begin restoration efforts once wind speeds have dropped below 39 miles per hour, making it safe for LUS and mutual aid crews to begin assessment and repair work.

Starting with restoration of transmission lines to distribution substations, LUS and mutual aid crews will work to restore services to the greatest number of customers as soon as possible.

We understand customers are having trouble calling in to report power outages. To report an outage or down power line or power pole, please call LUS at (337) 291-5700. Remember do not touch or drive over any fallen power lines.
