Gov. Edwards Announces Boards and Commissions Appointments

Gov. John Bel Edwards announced his appointments to several Louisiana boards and commissions.

BATON ROUGE — Gov. John Bel Edwards announced his appointments to several Louisiana boards and commissions.

Greater Baton Rouge Port Commission
The Port Commission has the power and authority to regulate the commerce and traffic within certain boundaries of the State of Louisiana and have charge of and administer public wharves, docks, sheds, and landings and other structures useful for the commerce of the port area.

Patrick W. Bernhard of Baton Rouge has been appointed to the Greater Baton Rouge Port Commission. Bernard is the vice president of Bernhard Capital Partners and will represent East Baton Rouge Parish.

Rebecca A. Cunard of Baton Rouge has been reappointed to the Greater Baton Rouge Port Commission. Cunard is an attorney at the Cunard Law Firm and will represent East Baton Rouge Parish.

Rev. Shelton C. Dixon of Baton Rouge has been appointed to the Greater Baton Rouge Port Commission. Rev. Dixon is the pastor at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church and will represent East Baton Rouge Parish.

Angela R. Machen of Baker has been reappointed to the Greater Baton Rouge Port Commission. Machen is a consultant at MMG and will represent East Baton Rouge Parish.

James E. Walters Jr. of Baton Rouge has been appointed to the Greater Baton Rouge Port Commission. Walters is the project director at Rebuilding Together Baton Rouge and will represent East Baton Rouge Parish.

Robert W. Watts of Zachary has been reappointed to the Greater Baton Rouge Port Commission. Watts is retired and will represent East Baton Rouge Parish.

Board of Ethics
The Board of Ethics is responsible for administering and enforcing provisions of the Code of Governmental Ethics, the Election Integrity Act, the Campaign Finance Disclosure Act and the Lobbyist Disclosure Act.

Mark A. Ellis of Prairieville has been appointed to the Board of Ethics. Ellis is the pastor of United Christian Faith Ministries and will represent the 6th Congressional District.

Occupational Forecasting Conference
The Occupational Forecasting Conference projects job growth and develops information on the needs of current, new and emerging industries for the workforce development planning process at the statewide and regional level.

James E. “Jim” Patterson of Baton Rouge has been appointed to the Occupational Forecasting Conference. Patterson is the vice president at the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry and will represent the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry.

Louisiana Emergency Response Network Board (LERN)
The Louisiana Emergency Response Network Board serves to defend the public health, safety and welfare by protecting the people of the State of Louisiana against unnecessary deaths and morbidity due to trauma and time-sensitive illness.

Monica S. Nijoka of Baton Rouge has been appointed to the Louisiana Emergency Response Network Board (LERN). Nijoka is the chief nursing officer at the Baton Rouge General Medical Center and was nominated by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.

Robert K. White of Shreveport has been appointed to the Louisiana Emergency Response Network Board (LERN). White is the professor and chairman for the department of surgery at Louisiana State University Health, Shreveport. White will represent the LSU Health Sciences Center at Shreveport.

Karen O. Wyble, of Arnaudville, has been reappointed to the Louisiana Emergency Response Network Board. Wyble is the Chief Executive Officer of St. Martin Hospital. She was nominated by the Rural Hospital Coalition to serve as a representative of hospitals with fewer than sixty beds.
