Girard Park Shooting Leaves Two Wounded

On Nov. 14, 2020 at approximately 5 p.m., officers with the Lafayette Police Department responded to a shooting incident at Girard Park.

Lafayette, La. - On Nov. 14, 2020 at approximately 5 p.m., officers with the Lafayette Police Department responded to a shooting incident at Girard Park.

Once on scene, officers located one victim suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his abdomen.

Medical assistance was provided to the victim prior to them being transported to a local hospital.

While at the hospital, officers were approached by a second victim who was at Girard Park. He suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.

Witnesses tell officers that there was a family event at the Pavilion in Girard Park. Sometime during the event, several gunshots could be heard. The police department was called a short time later.

There is no suspect information at this time.

Both victims are in stable condition at this time.

This investigation is ongoing.
