Church Point, La. - The cousin of one of the teens who was shot last weekend near Church Point, is speaking out.
Officers responded to a call of gun shots late Saturday night near Highway-35 between Branch and Church Point.
Authorities say three juveniles were traveling northbound on Highway-35 around midnight when another vehcile passed them and opened fire.
Two of the teens were sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, one of whom was the cousin of Freeman.
Just three months ago, the teen's 14-year-old brother was shot and killed in Church Point.
Now, she's speaking out on the uptick in juvenile gun violence in a tight-knit community that otherwise isn't use to such tragedies happening.
Detectives with the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office are asking for the public's help in connection with the shooting that happened late Saturday, February 21, 2021.
