EUNICE, La. - Detectives with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office were contacted in regards to two child molestation incidents involving a juvenile under the age of 9 on June 17, 2021. The allegations were made against Jacob Randel Moon.”
Upon further investigation during a child forensic interview, it was determined that the juvenile would visit the home of Jacob Moon for an overnight stay along with other family members.
When questioned by detectives, Jacob Moon admitted that the juvenile was given a sleep aid before bedtime. Jacob Moon also acknowledged that he was the only adult male that lived inside the home and the allegations being made against him were not true.
In a separate incident, an adult victim came forward on July 21, 2021 and stated that she was in a consensual sexual relationship with Jacob Moon. The victim stated that during the sexual encounter, she advised Jacob Moon that she did not want to continue and asked him to stop. Jacob Moon ignored the request until she was able to forcibly stop the encounter.
On August 12, 2021, Jacob Randel Moon was booked at the St. Landry Parish Jail and charged with 2 counts of aggravated crime against nature and third degree rape.
