Lafayette, LA- The D.R.E.A.M.S. (Disability, Resources, Education, Activities, Management, and Services) Foundation of Acadiana will offer the public a free sign language class on Friday, July 31st at 10am via Zoom. Interested participants can join via Zoom. The meeting ID number is 865 4014 5179.
The class will be instructed by Myra Mouton, Special Education Teacher. There are many benefits to learning sign language. It introduces you to a new culture and community, it helps improve your peripheral vision and reaction time and you can meet new people and make new friends.
“We are very excited to have Myra spearhead this project and we invite the public to join us as we explore the world of learning sign language in this first session,” stated Donielle Watkins, Executive Director for D.R.E.A.M.S. Foundation of Acadiana. “We will have additional sessions and that information will be announced on our Facebook page.”
