MAYORAL PROCLAMATION CURFEW NOTICE FOR HURRICANE IDA
WHEREAS, In accordance with the provisions of La. R.S. 29:730.3. the following morning and continuing during those same time periods on each day thereafter until rescinded or terminated.
WHEREAS, I, Carol Bourgeois Jr, Mayor, hereby declare a curfew in the municipality of Jeanerette, in Iberia Parish, beginning Sunday, August 29, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m,
WHEREAS, this curfew prohibits and/or controls all pedestrian and vehicular traffic, except essential emergency vehicles and personnel, and.
WHEREAS, the curfew does not apply to anyone going to and from their place of employment for purposes of work or any other critical or essential business activity as specifically defined by the United States Department of Homeland Security, Cyber Security and Infrastructure Security Agency., and
NOW THEREFORE, I, CAROL BOURGEOIS JR., Mayor and Chief Executive Officer of the City of Jeanerette in the Parish of Iberia, by virtue of the authority vested in me as the Mayor of the City of Jeanerette Charter and laws of the State of Louisiana do hereby Promulgate and issue the follow orders, which shall be effective August 29, 2021, commencing at 6:00 p.m. and remain in effect until 6:00 a.m. on August 30th, 2021, and continuing during those same time periods on each day thereafter until rescinded or terminated pursuant to my Mayoral Proclamation of a State of Emergency due to Hurricane IDA.
1. All public and private gatherings shall be cancelled or prohibited in non-emergency situations and where possible. In limited circumstances, personal gatherings should be limited to the number of persons in a reasonable household size.
2. Bars will close and Restaurants will no longer serve customers during the curfew.
