Coast Guard Suspending Search and Rescue; Seacor to Lead Search

In a 1pm news briefing, the U.S. Coast Guard announced that they are suspending search and rescue efforts.

(KADN) - In a 1pm news briefing, the U.S. Coast Guard announced that they are suspending search and rescue efforts.They are focusing now on the how and why.

Seacor announced they will lead the search. Donjon Marine has been hired and says they're going to thoroughly search the vessel.

17 divers are currently on operation and the search will highly depend on the weather.

The final tally as of today: 6 rescued; 5 dead; 8 still missing.

175 combined hours of searching has been recorded. NTSB is expecting the investigation to last 12-24 months.

The Coast Guard has received help from Customs and Border Protection, the state and local governments, as well as the private maritime industry, in the search.
