LAFAYETTE, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announced the following Acadiana bridge updates after structures were temporary closed due to potential and post impacts from Hurricane Delta.

DOTD will continue to monitor bridge conditions and will advise of any changes.

Evangeline Parish Schools
Due to the forecast of Hurricane Delta, Superintendent Lazard has announced the closure of all Evangeline Parish public schools Thursday (10-8-2020) and Friday (10/9/2020) for teachers, students and certain employees. All campus administrators, custodians and cafeteria staff members, as well as, pupil appraisal, all maintenance staff and other district office personnel are expected to report to work at their regular time on 10-8-2020. UPDATE: St. Martin Parish Schools and Facilities
All St. Martin Parish Schools will be open tomorrow. Power has been restored to all schools and all facilities are ready to open.

UPDATE: All St. Landry Parish School District schools will be open Friday, October 16, 2020.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana, Hurricane Delta Closures
Lafayette, LA – In preparation for Hurricane Delta and the safety and well-being of our Club members and staff, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana’s 5 locations (Lafayette, New Iberia, Abbeville and Opelousas) will be closed on Thursday, October 8th and Friday October 9th. We plan to reopen at regular hours on Monday, October 12th.
Ascension Episcopal Schools
All three campuses of Ascension Episcopal School will be closed Thursday, October 8 and Friday, October 9.

Out of an abundance of caution for all and based on the most current weather forecasts, the Acadia Parish School System will close all operations on Thursday, October 8th and Friday, October 9th due to deteriorating weather conditions associated with Hurricane Delta.
Vermilion Parish School Closure
UPDATE: No School On Wednesday October 14, 2020 for students.12 Month Employees report to work.9-10 month employees report 8-12. Thursday October 15, 2020 return for Elementary Students and B Day Hybrid. Friday October 16, 2020 return for A Day Hybrid.
Virtual School - Elementary resumes 10-19. Virtual Teachers will be reaching out to all virtual students.Please note electricity and structural damages at some schools could cause a change in this plan.
Lafayette Parish School System Closes Schools
With the impending landfall of Hurricane Delta, the Lafayette Parish School System will close all schools and facilities Thursday, October 8, through Friday, October 9. As a result, Friday’s Meals-to-Go pickup will be canceled. Friday night football games have been moved to Wednesday evening. The Acadiana High School game
has been cancelled due to Calcasieu Parish schools being closed.

South Louisiana’s National Parks Closed Due to Weather
All six sites of Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve as well as New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park will close beginning on October 6, 2020 at 5PM CDT, due to the threat of Hurricane Delta. No decision has been reached as to a reopening date. The following areas will be closed:

Drive-thru Disaster Recovery Centers in Acadia, Beauregard, Cameron, and Calcasieu Parishes Close Due to Hurricane Delta
BATON ROUGE, La. – The drive-thru Disaster Recovery Centers in the cities of Bell City, Deridder, Lake Charles, Rayne and Sulphur will close as of noon Wednesday Oct. 7 due to the predicted path of Hurricane Delta.
The centers will reopen Oct. 14 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CDT daily, weather and ground conditions permitting.

Youngsville City Council Meeting/Public Hearings Postponed
Mayor Ken Ritter has announced due to Hurricane Delta, the October city council meeting and public hearings that were originally scheduled for this Thursday, October 8th have been postponed for Thursday, October 15th. For more information, please visit the city’s website at www.Youngsville.us
Iberia Comprehensive Community Health Center, Inc., and its satellite sites will close for Hurricane Delta
Iberia Comprehensive Community Health Center, Inc. and its satellite sites, Abbeville Community Health Center, St. Martin Parish Community Health Center, Surrey Street Community Health Center, Surrey Street Pediatrics Extension, Merryville Community Health Center, Sabine Comprehensive Health Clinic, and Vernon Parish Community Health Center All sites will reopen on Monday, October 12, 2020 at 8:00 am. Opelousas City Court and Other Offices
The Opelousas City Court will be closed on Friday, October 9, 2020 due to Hurricane Delta. Additionally, all other Opelousas City offices will be closed Friday, Oct. 9, 2020. Normal operating hours will resume on Monday, Oct. 12, 2020.
St. Martin Council on Aging
Due to impending weather, St. Martin Council on Aging will be closed on Friday, October 9th. Agency services such as Home-Delivered meals and Transportation will not be available but will resume on Monday, October 12th. Town of Sunset
The Town of Sunset monthly meeting has been cancelled, and rescheduled for Thursday October 15, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. Town
of Sunset Traffic Court has been cancelled for Monday October 12,2020 and rescheduled for November 9,2020
All elective surgeries canceled and all Ochsner Lafayette General Urgent Care Centers and clinics to be closed on Friday, October 9
Due to the pending threat of Hurricane Delta, all Ochsner Lafayette General urgent care locations, professional centers, physician clinics, Cancer Center of Acadiana locations and the outpatient lab at Burdin Riehl will be closed on Friday, October 9. If road conditions allow it and if our facilities do not receive damage, urgent care centers will reopen on Saturday, October 10.
