The Cajun Navy is looking for volunteers to help residents of Lake Charles and surrounding areas in the recovery effort. "We need people to help clean up debris, and put tarps on roofs to make homes inhabitable for people affected by the damage caused by the hurricane. Most people have damaged roofs, and it has rained almost every day since the hurricane."
Please bring gloves, rakes, shovels, chainsaws, hammers, tarps, cap nails, and pretty much anything you would use to clean up your yard if the hurricane hit your home. Please bring some bottled water, we will have some also, and will feed volunteers. And ice if you want to help cool off. There are few places that have electricity.

We are working every day including Labor Day, our neighbors in the Lake Charles area who are in need do not have a day off.
Please sign up at www.cajunrelief.org prior to going so we can have an idea of number of people coming so we can prepare our daily work and food schedule.
Our staging area is 723 Ryan Street, in downtown Lake Charles. Its the site of Tia Juanita's Fish Camp. The restaurant has graciously allowed us to use their location.
