LOUISIANA - Customers and colleagues are invited to round up in-store purchases to benefit Cajun Navy’s Hurricane Ida relief efforts. Macy’s is committedto strengthening the community as neighbors, customers and colleagues begin the recovery process following the damage and devastation from the recent Hurricane Ida. To assist with the community’s immediate needs, Macy’s has also donated $50,000 to Cajun Navy Ground Force to support its Hurricane Ida relief efforts.Macy’s has launched the charitable round-up campaign with the help of its colleagues and customers.

Through September 14, 2021, all Macy’s stores in Louisiana will offer customers the opportunity to round up their in-store purchases to the nearest dollar (up to $.99) and donate their change to Cajun Navy Ground Force. One hundred percent of all funds raised will benefit the Cajun Navy.“What an honor!” said Cajun Navy Founder Rob Gaudet. “We are absolutely humbled to be supported by this amazing legendary American company from their physical stores across the south. To help with Hurricane Ida, please shop at Macy’s where you can roll up your purchase amount to the highest dollar as a donation to us.

You will be providing support for families in need in Terrebonne and LaFourche parish, Louisiana. Guess where we will be doing our Christmas shopping this year?”The Cajun Navy has built partnerships with various other organizations, including The Grouse Room, the Salvation Army, Operation Airdrop, Operation Barbecue Relief, and Praying Pelican Missions.

The Cajun Navy has been providing meals, water, and other supplies to the people of Houma, an area in desperate need since Hurricane Ida left the city in shambles. Macy’s has stated that they will continue to work with the Louisiana community to identify meaningful ways to support those impacted by Hurricane Ida as the community begins to rebuild. Macy’s Inc. also helps their colleagues in need by offering the North Star Relief Fund, a designated 501(c)(3) charity that is funded primarily by Macy’s and its employees. This Fund provides rapid, direct financial assistance to employees in need during times of natural disaster or personal hardship. Anyone, including Macy’s, Inc. employees, vendors, customers, and community groups may donate to the Fund.
