UPDATE: Butte LaRose Pontoon Bridge Re-Opening

The pontoon bridge in Butte LaRose will be re-opening by 5:00 p.m on November 10, 2020.

St. Martinville, LA.)- The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has just inspected the Pontoon Bridge in Butte La Rose and will allow the structure to be re-opened. St. Martin Parish Government public works employees have been dispatched to remove all barricades and related obstructions so that the bridge can re-open as soon as possible.

It is anticipated that the bridge will be open by 5:00 p.m. November 10, 2020.


St. Martinville, LA.- St. Martin Parish Government has received notification from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development that the pontoon bridge in Butte LaRose should be closed immediately and until further notice for safety concerns. Parish Government has made arrangements to evaluate what repairs are needed to the structure and is hopeful that the period of closure will be minimal.
