New ad “Stood” Focuses on Higgins’ Role in the Riot and Calls for His Resignation

Lafayette, LA-- As the second impeachment trial of former-President Donald Trump begins today, Blackthorn PAC, LLC is launching its first television ad highlighting the role of Louisiana Congressman Clay Higgins in inspiring the storming of the United States Capitol by pro-Trump rioters.

The ad, titled “Stood,” uses Higgins’ own words during the run-up to the November election and its immediate aftermath. In the ad, Higgins declares that if the Republicans lose the House, the Senate, and the White House “Patriots are going to have some hard decisions to make.” In fall of 2020 Higgins posted a rambling fire-lit rant in which he declared to have “inside data” to support the falsehood that Trump won the election and bemoaned what he called the “dissolution of America” as a result of the election.

Lafayette-based businessman Ken Miller started Blackthorn PAC, LLC after witnessing the heartbreaking spectacle of January 6. “There are no words for what happened that day,” Miller says. “It was like these people were storming the doors of my own house or my church. The level of shame, sadness, and anger was just too much. So I decided then and there to make sure what happened that day does not get swept under the rug.” Miller says Higgins is an obvious first choice for Blackthorn’s first ad and hopes it will force Higgins to answer for his words and actions. “This is not a party of small-government conservatism anymore but of anti-government anarchism” - a concern of Miller’s echoed by many citizens across America. “This is the conversation I hope this ad, and the ones to follow, sparks among neighbors all over the country. It is the conversation we are having here. That is, can someone who is so

far out there actually do anything for constituents like create jobs and fix our roads? I don’t see how that is possible.”

“This is someone who has been recklessly spouting seditionist rhetoric for a very long time,” Miller says. Congressman Higgins threatened Governor Edwards earlier in the year over COVID-19 restrictions saying that if Edwards didn’t open up the state, the people would do it by force. Later in the summer, he threatened to kill protesters in a Facebook post that led to a mass armed demonstration in Lafayette, Louisiana.

“I want to hear Clay Higgins explain what he meant by these “hard decisions.” I want him to explain why he is a member of both the Oath Keepers and Three-Percenters and, in fact, has the Three-Percenter logo on his pistol grip and campaign t-shirts. Clay Higgins needs to tell us all what he is really up to and what he really wants to see happen to this country.”
