Abbeville man arrested for attempted second-degree murder charge

The victim and Thompson got into an argument about payment for storing a motor.

ABBEVILLE, La. (KADN) - An Abbeville is facing attempted murder charges after allegedly shooting another man with a shotgun.

According to Abbeville Police, Ryan Thompson, 33, is charged with attempted second-degree murder.

Investigators said that on the afternoon of July 25, officers were called to Abbeville General Hospital for a person with gunshot wounds.

They determined that the victim and Thompson got into an argument about payment for storing a motor.

Police said that Thompson pulled out a handgun and fired at the victim, but missed.

He then pulled out a shotgun, shooting the other man in the side of his body. Pellets also hit the victim from his face to ankle.

Thompson is being held on a $100,000 bond.
