Abbeville Police Respond to a Shooting in the 800 block of S. State Street

Officers of the Abbeville Police Department responded to a “Shots Fired” complaint near Family Dollar, located at 801 S. State Street.

On October 13, 2020 at approximately 10:00 p.m. officers of the Abbeville Police Department responded to a “Shots Fired” complaint near Family Dollar, located at 801 S. State Street. Responding patrol officers located a victim who had been shot.

The victim was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. Abbeville Police Detectives responded and are actively investigating and following up on several leads. Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, no details of the actual shooting are being released at this time.
