1 arrested, 1 wanted after Lafayette Police seize $40K in drugs

They found three guns, 1,300 MDMA pills, heroin/fentanyl, Hydrocodone and drug paraphernalia.

LAFAYETTE, La. (KADN) - One person is arrested and another wanted after the Lafayette Police Narcotics Unit seized drugs and guns during a search.

According to a department spokesperson, the unit received information in December about a person distributing large amounts of drugs within Lafayette.

On January 4, the narcotics unit and LPD Viper executed a search warrant at 411 Normandy Road.

They found three guns, 1,300 MDMA pills, heroin/fentanyl, Hydrocodone and drug paraphernalia.

LPD said the value of the drugs was more than $40,000.

On Wednesday, Jasilyn Francis, 37, of Lafayette was arrested for possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I controlled dangerous substnce, possession of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

LPD is still looking for Michael Walker, Jr., 42, of Lafayette in the case.
