Lafayette,LA- The holiday season will be spent the night at Acadian Village for families to come out to not only see beautiful lights, but bond with each other.
Anyone around town knows LARC's Acadian Village is a landmark destination for the Lafayette area. Once the lights turned off, Noel Acadian Au Village began for family and friends to see the lights.
Kayden Menard, the local snowman, says seeing families bonding throughout the event is the best part."From someone who comes from a broken and struggling home, it just means a lot to me. All the families gathered here, knowing that they have something during Christmas."
Menard tells me that Acadian Village holds many memories for him. Now he gives back… and helping out at Noel Acadian Au Village was a no-brainer to him." I know when I was younger, I would come to Acadian village, and knowing that I can give that back to them means everything to me. My dad was part of LARC, so it has a special place in my heart."
This was Priscilla Soileau's first time at the event. She says, walking in... her jaw dropped at the beautiful setup."It's so I've never seen so many lights. It's beautiful. It is really gorgeous. It makes me feel excited. It's like I am in a new place."
What made the night special for both Taylor Lange and Soileau is how the proceeds are used. Noel Acadian Au village benefits larc… a group that supports individuals with disabilities to make sure they reach their goals through community engagement and education.
"I work for Cajun area agency on aging, so we help with the elderly as well, so it just makes me feel better than we are helping."
"To me, it makes me feel really good knowing I'm helping someone in need."
It's not too late if you missed tonight. The last day to see the lights is December 23. you can buy tickets for noel Acadian Au Village online at ShopRite convenience stores or at the gate. Children two and younger get in for free.
