Fifth Arrest Made in Connection to Rayne Homicide Investigation

LAFAYETTE, La. - The Lafayette Police Department arrested Darion Mouton (17) during a traffic stop after confirming the Rayne Police Department had an outstanding arrest warrant for attempted second-degree murder.

Chief Carroll Stelly announces that Mouton is the fifth arrest related to the Johnathan Dixon homicide investigation.

The arrest took place on Wednesday evening, October 27, 2021.

The same evening, Rayne detectives transported Darion from LPCC to the Acadia Parish Jail.

On August 25, 2021, Darion Mouton was indicted by an Acadia Parish Grand Jury, resulting in the matter now being handled in adult court.
